Here in Fullerton, the Fire Department is hosting its Christmas in July blood drive at the library on Wednesday, the OC Parks Summer Concert Series brings the Beatles vs. Stones tribute to Craig Regional Park on Thursday, and the Muckenthaler Cultural Center closes out the weekend with its annual gala on Saturday. OC Fair 2026
The OC Fair continues through August 16 with midway rides, live concerts, livestock exhibits, and the popular Centennial Farm. This week's Pacific Amphitheatre headliners include Trevor Noah on Thursday and Nile Rodgers & CHIC on Friday. Los Angeles Angels: Beach Week Homestand
The Angels are home all week for Beach Week at Angel Stadium. First up: the Houston Astros on Monday through Wednesday (July 27–29). City Council Chooses Deepest Cuts, Budget Adoption Delayed
At the July 21 meeting, the Fullerton City Council backed "Scenario C" for the proposed FY 2026-27 budget, facing a $3.8 million deficit. The plan includes unfunding nine vacant full-time positions and reducing community programming. Final budget adoption was deferred to August. Council also voted to kill a proposed streets sales tax. Recall Effort Launched Against Mayor Jung and Council Member Valencia
During the July 21 council meeting, Fullerton resident Elijah Manassero served intent-to-recall papers on Mayor Fred Jung and Council Member Jamie Valencia, citing loss of trust over misallocation of general fund reserves. Back-to-School Registration Underway
Fullerton School District and Fullerton Joint Union High School District are now accepting registration for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents in Sunny Hills, Raymond Hills, and Golden Hills should check their school's feeder assignments and registration windows. Beechwood, Laguna Road, and Acacia Elementary are now enrolling.

The Fullerton Loop and Hilscher Park Trail remain in excellent shape heading into August. Morning temperatures are in the low to mid-70s with coastal breezes. Start your hike or ride before 7:30 AM for the most comfortable conditions.
Pro-tip: The Bastanchury and Gilbert trailhead lots fill by 8:30 AM on Saturdays now. Bring extra water as the late-July sun is intense after 10 AM. With the OC Fair drawing crowds to Costa Mesa and the new Beatles vs. Stones concert at Craig Regional Park on Thursday, expect inland trail traffic to be lighter midweek.
