September 5 – 6, 2026

Good morning, Fullerton Hills. It's a long Labor Day weekend, and the calendar is packed: the final First Friday Art Walk of summer, a big museum opening, live music around town, and the return of one of Orange County's great traditions, the Orange International Street Fair. Here's your guide to the best of it.

1. This Weekend's Must-Attend Events

Friday, September 4 · 5-10 PM · Downtown Fullerton · Free

First Friday Art Walk

The final First Friday of summer brings galleries and local venues across downtown Fullerton open late with live music, artists, and exhibitions. Stroll the plaza, stop into your favorite shops, and enjoy the last warm-evening art walk before the season turns. Free to attend and held the First Friday of every month. Details at artwalkdtf.com.

Saturday, September 5 · 6-9 PM · Fullerton Museum Center · 301 N Pomona Ave

“Final Rites: Death, Mourning, and Beyond” Opening Reception

The Fullerton Museum Center celebrates opening night of its new exhibit, “Final Rites: Death, Mourning, and Beyond,” with a reception from 6 to 9 PM. Free with a suggested donation. It is a thoughtful, beautifully curated look at how we honor and remember, right in the heart of downtown. More info at fullertonmuseum.com.

Saturday, September 5 · 7 PM · Programme Skate & Sound · Downtown Fullerton

Buried In Spring, Live at Programme Skate & Sound

Emo and indie favorites take over one of Fullerton's essential record-shop venues on Saturday night. Buried In Spring plays live at Programme Skate & Sound at 7 PM, a fitting setting for a night of loud, heartfelt guitar music surrounded by vinyl and local energy. Arrive early to grab a spot.

Friday, September 4 (5-10 PM) through Sunday, September 6 (10 AM-10 PM) · Old Towne Orange · Free

Orange International Street Fair

The area's beloved free Labor Day festival returns to Old Towne Orange, a short drive from every Fullerton Hills neighborhood. International food streets, live music on multiple stages, vendors, and family activities fill the plaza all weekend. Expect big crowds, so rideshare is recommended. Full schedule at optevents.org.

2. Community News & Civic Updates

A few things for North Fullerton residents to know heading into the long weekend:

Labor Day Closures: Monday, September 7

Monday, September 7 is Labor Day. City of Fullerton facilities, including City Hall and community centers, are closed for the holiday. Plan ahead for any permits, payments, or facility reservations, and enjoy the three-day weekend, whether you are at the Street Fair, the Art Walk, or a trail at sunrise.

Housing Mandate Report Response Continues

The city continues its response to an Orange County Grand Jury housing-mandate report, with Fullerton's assigned 2021-2029 housing target of 13,209 units shaping supply conversations across the community. These planning decisions matter to homeowners, renters, and future buyers alike, and they are worth watching closely in the months ahead.

3. Real Estate Watch: Market Pulse

Here is the quick pulse on the Fullerton market heading into the first full week of September:

Citywide Median Sold Price
~$1.125M
Sale-to-List Ratio
101.2%
Typical Market Time
~35 days
Median Market Time
39 days
Selling Above List
More than half
July Closed-Sale Median
+5.9% YoY

Data sourced from regional public records and syndicated MLS data as of September 2026. All data is subject to independent verification.

Fullerton homes are selling in about 35 days on the market, with a 101.2% sale-to-list ratio and more than half of homes selling above list price. The citywide median sold price sits around $1.125 million, with median market time at 39 days. July's closed-sale median was up 5.9% year over year, while three-month measures tell a more mixed story. That split is exactly why property-level comps matter more than headline averages, especially across the distinct submarkets of Raymond Hills, Sunny Hills, and Golden Hills.

4. Trail & Outdoor Update

Early September in Fullerton Hills means warm afternoons but comfortable mornings, an ideal window for the Fullerton Loop or a walk through Hillcrest Park before the day heats up. Get out early for the best conditions, then let the weekend's downtown energy take over once the sun climbs.

The Street Fair and downtown events are best enjoyed in the evening, when the temperatures drop and the lights come on. A long weekend plan of morning trails and festival evenings is the very best of Fullerton in early September.

5. Dining Spotlight: Brunch Pick
